Glimmer Amidst the Icy Night

She crossed the land to bring color to one friend in a cursed tower.

In a cursed tower, the sick Lord of Castle Aberleen drifts into sleep while, far away, a girl sets out to visit her old friend. At every stop she gathers a gift for him, from a flask of lake water to a feather from Swan Castle, with hungry wolves on her heels. She reaches him with hardly a moment to spare, and the story turns to ask him why she came at all.
