KZO Comics · Esmeralda

Bond of Past and Present

She took his hand in the fire. She kept the knife in the other.

Esmeralda asks her crystal ball about seven ominous stars, and it shows her the Tribe of Astrologers refusing to serve a tyrant. The tyrant is Khufra, who answers with slaughter and then leads a small girl out of the flames by the hand. She grows up at his side, and she is crying when she finally raises her hand against him.
